If you are looking for a beautiful getaway on the the Maine Coast, think about a country setting like Beaver Brook Farm.  Located on a quiet country lane just up from Broad Cove on the St. George River in Cushing, our house is ideally situated in the heart of Wyeth country.  Beaver Brook Farm has 30 acres of fields and woods. Its country location is quiet yet less than a half -hour drive to either Rockland or nearby Camden..  The house is less than one-half mile to Broad Cove which was the inspiration for many of Andrew Wyeth’s paintings.

The house has two levels and has been our home since we built it almost 18 years ago.  Although we still spend much of the summer living aboard Surprise, we really enjoy Cushing in the winter months snowshoeing our wooded trails . The house comfortably sleeps four people. The upstairs bedroom has a futon that converts to a full bed.  If you have extra guests, the sofa upstairs also converts to a double bed.  The large master bedroom downstairs with adjacent half-bath has a comfortable sitting area with TV on the first floor. Also on this level is another room with an available cot.  A new washing machine and a dryer are also located here.  A large bookcase contains countless volumes of books for those quiet evenings at home.  The upper level bedroom comes equipped with cable internet .  The full bath on the upper level has a tub and shower.  The great room and kitchen  let in plenty of sunlight.   The great room also has a gas woodstove for taking off the chill on cool evenings.  Off the kitchen is a wonderful deck with lovely views toward Broad Cove and our field and woods.  There is a window air-conditioning unit in the upstairs bedroom.

It is available for rent for the entire summer, monthly or bi-weekly from June through November.

No smoking and no pets.

A security deposit is required.

Rental rates :

$1500 for two weeks

$2800 per month

$5500 for July and August

Entire summer season rental can be negotiable.

All linens are provided but there is an additional charge if you desire housekeeping.
